Terms and Conditions of Service

1. Introduction
Welcome to myfrenchteacher.ie. These Terms and Conditions govern the services provided by Julien Porzadny, operating through the website myfrenchteacher.ie (hereinafter referred to as “the Provider”). By booking a class or purchasing a service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Services
We offer the following services:
- Private tuition & grinds: Private and group French language lessons (one-to-one, in pair, in small groups).
- Online group classes: French lessons for adults, online and in Sligo. These are offered in groups for beginners and intermediate level students.
3. Booking and Payment
All classes must be booked in advance. The prices for our services are available on our website.
- Private tuition: Your first half hour lesson (the taster lesson) can be paid online via the booking platform. Further payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure your session. Further payment can be made through bank transfer, via debit/credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or Revolut Pay.
- Group classes: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place in the class. Payment can be made through bank transfer, via debit/credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or Revolut Pay. As a special courtesy, returning students have the option to pay in cash on the first evening of the course.
4. Cancellation and Refunds

Private tuition: A full refund will be issued for cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations made 48 hours or less in advance are non-refundable.

Group classes (general): Your place is secured for the duration of the course (6 or 8 weeks). If you are unable to attend a specific session, you will still receive the lesson notes and resources; however, we cannot offer partial refunds or discounts for missed sessions.

Cancellation by the student (group courses):

For cancellations made more than 5 days before the start of the course, a full refund will be provided for that course and any subsequent ones.

For cancellations made 5 days or less before the start of the course, no refund will be issued.

Once a course has begun, no refunds will be provided for that course.

Cancellation by the teacher: In the event that a class is cancelled by myfrenchteacher.ie, you will be offered a full refund for the cancelled session or the option to reschedule to an alternative date.
5. Student Conduct
All students are expected to engage in a respectful and constructive manner during all online sessions.
6. Digital Learning and Platform Usage
- Platform access: Access to Google Classroom or any other learning platform is provided to enrolled students for educational purposes only. Access is non-transferable and for the exclusive use of the registered student.
- Account security: Students are responsible for maintaining the security of their login credentials. Users must not share passwords or attempt to access the accounts of others.
- Digital conduct: All students are required to adhere to the Digital Classroom Code of Conduct as outlined in the Provider’s Child Safeguarding Statement. All students are expected to engage in a professional and respectful manner. The Provider reserves the right to suspend access to the platform or terminate the service agreement for any student who engages in conduct that is deemed disrespectful, disruptive, or harmful to the learning environment.
7. Safeguarding and online safety
7.1 Procedures for minors (tuition and workshops)
- Professional standards: All tuition is conducted with professional boundaries. For students under the age of 18, it is expected that a parent or guardian remains aware of the lesson schedule.
- Online safety: Online lessons are conducted via secure platforms. To ensure the safety of minors, communication regarding lessons should, where possible, involve a parent or guardian. Participants are strictly prohibited from recording lessons, taking screenshots, or redistributing materials or communications.
- Safeguarding policy: The Provider adheres to the principles of Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children. A comprehensive Child Safeguarding Statement is available on the website for review.
7.2 Conduct for adult learners
- Group privacy: Students must respect the privacy of fellow participants in group courses. Information shared by other students during group sessions or in the classroom must remain confidential and should not be shared outside of the course.
8. Intellectual Property
- My materials: All original course and tuition materials created by the Provider (including, but not limited to, handouts, original presentations, and supplementary digital content) are the intellectual property of the Provider and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use these materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
- Third-party materials: From time to time, courses and tuition may incorporate materials, textbooks, or resources created by third-party authors or publishers. These materials remain the intellectual property of their respective owners. You are granted a limited license to use these resources solely for your personal educational purposes as part of your participation in the course. Any further reproduction or distribution of third-party materials is strictly prohibited.
9. Data Protection
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR. We use platforms such as Brevo for our newsletter and online bookings.
10. Limitation of Liability
While the Provider strives to provide the highest quality of teaching, there is no guarantee of specific results from these services. The liability of the Provider for any loss or damage arising from your use of these services is strictly limited to the fees you have paid.
11. Force Majeure
The Provider shall not be held liable for any failure to perform obligations where such failure is caused by an event beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to internet outages, power failures, or extreme weather conditions.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland.
